15 Years!

Meegan and I are happily celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary in Savannah, GA. We are staying at the beautiful Ballastone Inn and enjoying the great history, views, and food offered here. It’s scorching hot but that hasn’t stopped us from having a great second honeymoon.

On a website related note, I have had to disable comments on the site due to a flood of spam coming through the front end. Until I get a workaround figured out there unfortunately won’t be any comments allowed.

Winter = blech

Well we are about midway through our first winter in a long time and I can’t say that I have missed a thing about it. Cold, rain, grey about sums it up. We did get lucky and planned a trip that had us going to our parents on a rare day where snow fell in Georgia. While it was all rain here in Evans my parents did get a half inch or so and Savannah was very excited.

Meegan and I stayed a night in Atlanta mainly just to relax and recharge the batteries. By the way, avoid eating at the tapa bar Twists in Buckhead. While the decor was kind of cool their food definitely was underwhelming.

Back to work, and more importantly, back to school. I am on track to finally finish my BS in Computer Science right around my retirement. Better late than never I guess…

Yes we are still alive

I know it has been a while since we have posted but things have been real busy. First I moved to Augusta and left the family in Hawaii with the intention of letting Savannah finish school. Then Meegan was offered a job here in Augusta that she couldn’t pass up but it had them coming much earlier than we expected. So the scramble began to find a house. And we were lucky to find a perfect place for us to hopefully settle down to.

So the moving, unpacking, new jobs and such has left us with little time for anything else. But the last of the boxes are getting unpacked, we are settling into our jobs and the area, and we are finally seeing the end of the moving tunnel.

I plan to have some pictures of our house and a recent fishing trip I took with some buds a few weeks ago. It’s ironic I joined the Navy to get out of Georgia and in the end I find myself right back here. But it’s a choice we made and are happy with. I myself and looking forward to catching up on some fishing that I have missed over the years.
