No, it’s not what you are thinking(and some are hoping), but rather a new furry addition to the family. Our new goldendoodle(part golden retriever, part poodle) is named Frodo and is an early Christmas present for Savannah. We drove to Macon, GA to get him and we surprised Savannah, letting her think we were going there to ride horses.

He is a very good puppy and very affectionate. Reviews are still pending from Gary and Fozzy, with Fozzy being the more tolerable so far.

Why did we go all the way to Macon for a dog? Well, he is a cross breed that is hypo-allergenic, an important trait for a wife and daughter who are allergic to dogs.

There are more pics of him on our photo gallery page. Go check em out, and while there check out Meegan’s pics from her friend Jen’s baby shower.

Back in 1996 Atlanta was trying to build an Olympic Park. As part of a fundraising effort they sold bricks where you could get two lines of text on them. Meegan bought three bricks, putting hers, mine, and my folks names on them. We promptly forgot about them…

Until Saturday and we were in Atlanta on a little family vacation and remembered the bricks. The park has a computer where you can look them up and voila, our bricks were there in front of us. It was kind of neat knowing our names were there and would be there for forseeable future.

We had a great time in Atlanta. First we went to the zoo which I had not been to in a long time. It was very nice and we had a great time. Next we went and checked into our hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn, which was located right next to the aforementioned park. After a brief rest we headed over to the Coca-Cola museum. There was quite a line, which turned out to be from the groups leaving the Georgia Aquarium next door. The ticket lady suggested we wait about 30 minutes and come back. We spent that time finding our bricks and decided to go and take a tour of CNN before heading back. The CNN tour was actually pretty good and we returned to Coca-Cola in time for the last tour and no lines!

They had a cute little “documentary” on the characters that work in the coke machine. You may have seen the commercial, the one where the coin goes in the machine and a million little cartoon characters get the coke put together. After the movie they basically set you free to self tour the rest. They have some neat memorabilia and a demo of the bottling process. Of course the tour ends in a room where you can try coke products from around the world. Alas none of the milk tea they distribute in Japan that I love so much, but we found some very cool flavors(and some rather disgusting ones). Savannah got a little souvenir bottle and had a blast filling her belly with carbonated beverages.

We went back to the hotel and cleaned up and then headed out to eat at a place Meegan found called “Mary Mac’s Tea Room”. It was some really great southern cooking and I highly recommed it to anyone that find themselves in Atlanta.

The next morning we got up and headed to another place Meegan found, “Thumbs Up”, for breakfast. It was another great meal! Meegan sure knows how to pick good places to eat. Afterwards we headed to Ikea for some stuff for the house. Then we headed home, driving through 2 hours of torrential rain. Of course about 40 miles from the house it stopped raining and we never saw a drop. Anyone know a good rain dance we can try?

My impression. One word, Fanatic with a capital F. Having read Mr. Heinlein’s science fiction novels (he is the writer of Dianetics, the book Scientology is based from), the man was a sick puppy and it appears Mr Cruise is following along the same paranoid, self-riteous path.

Well we are about midway through our first winter in a long time and I can’t say that I have missed a thing about it. Cold, rain, grey about sums it up. We did get lucky and planned a trip that had us going to our parents on a rare day where snow fell in Georgia. While it was all rain here in Evans my parents did get a half inch or so and Savannah was very excited.

Meegan and I stayed a night in Atlanta mainly just to relax and recharge the batteries. By the way, avoid eating at the tapa bar Twists in Buckhead. While the decor was kind of cool their food definitely was underwhelming.

Back to work, and more importantly, back to school. I am on track to finally finish my BS in Computer Science right around my retirement. Better late than never I guess…

Well the Bulldogs came in and burst Hawai’i's bubble last night. They didn’t just burst it, they trampled it, knocking Colt around like a pinata. I can’t say I’m too surprised, although I did think Hawai’i would be able to eventually adjust to the fast outside rush but they just couldn’t. I have to take my hats off to my home state team, as they definitely made a case that they, and not LSU, should be playing for the national championship.

And as for Hawai’i, it was still a magical season, and I hope they know they should still be proud of their accomplisment. They may have lost the Sugar Bowl but they are the only team that can say they were undefeated in 2007.

On another note, look for pictures from Christmas and our post-Christmas vacation in Northern Virginia to be posted soon!

Boy, what a game. After the Warriors severely stumbled in the first quarter, fumbling 3 times and finding themselves down 21-0, I was almost ready to give up on UH’s BCS Bowl dreams.

But Colt and the Warriors woke up and he played perfect, throwing 5 touchdowns and no interceptions. Even the running game got involved with an exciting comeback and win in the fourth quarter. It was an exciting game, even at 3am in the morning! My guess is that the Warriors are going to the Sugar Bowl and there is a chance that they may play Georgia! No matter what happens in the bowl game you can’t take away a great, magical, season for the Warriors.
